LinkedIn is reportedly introducing a new feature that will allow users to schedule posts. Instead of having to immediately publish a post, users will be able to set a specific time and date for it to go live on the popular social media and networking platform, which is owned by Microsoft.
On his LinkedIn profile, social media consultant and tipster Matt Navarra confirmed the release of this feature. According to Navarra, the feature is currently being rolled out to Android and web users only. However, upon checking the service’s Android app and logging in via the web, we did not see the feature available yet. A report from TechCrunch states that a few users have access to the feature, suggesting that it is being released in phases.
If you want to check whether you have access to the schedule post feature, follow these steps:
1. Open the LinkedIn app on your Android device.
2. Make sure you have updated the app to the latest version.
3. Tap on the “+” (post) sign at the bottom of the screen.
4. Tap on the compose message box to bring up the keyboard.
5. If you see a clock icon next to “Post,” it means you have the feature.
6. A similar clock icon will appear beside the “Post” button on the web.
Web developer and app researcher Nima Owji had previously shared a screenshot on Twitter in August, suggesting that LinkedIn had been working on this feature for some time.
Various social media and technology companies already offer similar scheduling features. For example, Twitter (through TweetDeck) and Facebook already allow users to schedule their posts. Additionally, Gmail allows you to schedule the sending of your messages.
While third-party platforms like Hootsuite and Buffer already provide the ability to schedule LinkedIn posts, some users may have concerns about granting access to their accounts to these platforms due to security reasons.
